AAUW Mission and Diversity Statements:The American Association of University Women promotes equity for all women and girls, lifelong education, and positive societal change. In principle and practice, AAUW values and seeks a diverse membership. The AAUW Arlington Texas Branch is know for being involved in such interests as literature, international relations, gender equity, women's issues and social activities. Today our membership includes business executives, financial administrators, librarians, physicians, computer specialists, authors, educators of all levels and many more. Our members range in age from the college graduate to 50 year AAUW veterans. AAUW Arlington Texas Branch is associated with many community services such as our Annual Book Fair, University of Texas-Arlington Student Affiliate and Scholarship Fund, Expanding Your Horizons as well as presenting the Outstanding Woman of the Year award. Our members enjoy attending community cultural events, visiting museums as well as frequently getting together for our literature study groups, playing bridge, mahjongg or double deck pinochle. We are proud to offer many activities, resources for
women, research/literature, etc. that will accommodate and help the needs of our
members. Each one of us can make a difference in our community. Join now
and make a difference in your community. Membership is open to ALL graduates who hold a baccalaureate or higher degree from an accredited college or university. AAUW values and seeks a diverse membership. Membership dues are $56.00 for the membership year July 1 through June 30. ($39.00 goes to the National Association; $8.00 to the State; and $9.00 to the Arlington Branch) Members of the Arlington Branch of AAUW, are also members of AAUW-Texas, National AAUW, and the International Federation of University Women (IFUW - organized in 1919) providing a world-wide network of university women to promote international understanding and friendship and to improve the educational, legal and social status of women and girls.
